    Charlie E. Meier currently serves as the State Representative in the 108th House District. Rep. Meier serves on the following committees in the Illinois House of Representatives; Republican Spokesperson for Agriculture & Conservation; Appropriations-Human Services; Mental Health (Republican Spokesperson); Economic Opportunity & Equity (Republican Spokesperson); Elem Sec Ed: School Curric Policies; Energy & Environment; Negotiations Subcommittee (AGCS); Human Services.

    Charlie is a life-long resident of Washington County. He is a farmer and businessman. Charlie has served on the Washington Co. Board, BCMW, and Heartlands Conservancy He is active in his Church and has been a 4H leader for over 35 yrs. He is an Addieville Jaycee, Charter member of the Heritage House Museum, and still helps the FFA organization.

    Charlie Meier’s commitment to public service is second to none. Since February 22, 2012, Charlie Meier never gave up fighting to keep Murray Center open. When the Governor announced his intention to close the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center located in Centralia, slating its closure for the spring of 2013. However, thankfully due to efforts made by the Murray Parents Association, Rep. John Cavaletto, Senator John O. Jones, State Representative Charlie Meier and hundreds of friends and family of Murray Center. They never gave up the fight to keep the only state developmental center located in central and southern Illinois open.
