If you like professional BBQ competitions, you will not have to go far on August 20 and 21. The Troy-Edwardsville Shriner’s Club will be hosting their first annual Shriner’s St. Louis BBQ Society Competition at the Tri-Township Park in Troy. The fun begins on Saturday, August 20th at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night. Then Sunday is competition judging day.
At the event you will find professional BBQ competitors, vendors (selling BBQ), a bounce house for the kids (free all day on Saturday) and a face painter (free 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday). Time Out Sports Bar and Grill will have a bar open for the entire event. City Scoops Ice Cream will be selling delicious ice cream from their ice cream truck.
Entertainment on Saturday will include the bands Joints 22 (1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.), American Blue Grass Drive (3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.), Beyond Judgement (6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.) and Blue Marlin will finish out the event on Sunday from noon – 4:00 p.m.
All vehicles should enter from the 162 exit (by FCB Banks). The Collinsville Road entrance will serve only as an exit during this event. Parking is free and will be available throughout the park. Golf carts will be driving around to pick up attendees.
The group is seeking event sponsors. There are a variety of levels, including banner, presentation and stage sponsors. All sponsors will receive recognition at the event and prior to the event, on social media. You can FB message the group’s FB page if you would be interested in purchasing a sponsorship.
All funds collected will support the Shriner’s and their charitable giving. For more information, visit the Shriner’s FB page.
