    Description

    Job Summary:

    The RN performs triage duties under the direction of the provider which may include responding to triaged phone calls, directing care appropriately, and scheduling appointments. The RN performs clinical duties under the supervision the physician and/or mid-level provider. Duties may include obtaining and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, performing procedures, drawing blood, and assisting with in office procedures when necessary.

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Demonstrates critical thinking skills in order to triage patient care appropriately. Communicates with physician and/or mid-level to provide excellent care to patients in the office and by phone.
    2. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
    3. Assists with coordination of referrals, authorizations, and scheduling of specialist, testing, and DME orders.
    4. Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
    5. Performs clinical duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs, recording medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, drawing blood and administering medications as directed by the provider.
    6. Maintains accurate and complete medical records.
    7. Demonstrates effective communication skills with patients, families and co-workers.
    8. Conducts self with integrity, promotes a culture of compliance, and complies with all laws, rules, regulations, and Anderson Healthcare policies and procedure
    9. Applies the scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs.
    10. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
    11. Notes and carries out physician/provider orders.
    12. Assist provider on procedures and exams as necessary.

    Qualifications

    Education Requirements and Other Requirements:

     

    Education Level: Graduate of an RN program required. Must maintain an Illinois license as a Registered Nurse.

     

    Technical Skills: Must be able to complete computer work and document activity in the patient EHR.

     

    Experience Requirements: Experience in a medical setting. Prior experience as a RN is preferred.

     

    Other Requirements: Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills are necessary.

     

     

    Working Conditions: Exposure Category I: Exposure Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them, are Category I tasks. Use of personal protective equipment is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
