    Scott Credit Union Vice President of Collections
    Responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the activities of departmental employees. Provides counsel and statistical analysis to the COO regarding trends regarding trends in delinquency. Leads team in collecting delinquent accounts of borrowers. Conducts analyses and prepares regular reports that depict the status of impaired loans for the credit union. Establishes and maintains accurate operational policies and procedures. Provides leadership and ensures all areas of responsibility contribute towards and support the attainment of corporate delinquency and charge off goals. Possesses the skills to strategically partner and effectively communicate with senior management, has the ability to influence and drive a diverse group or team to action. This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will serve as a member of the senior officer team.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor’s degree plus five years work experience in a similar position at a financial institution or five years of experience overseeing a collections area.
    Experience with automated collections systems
    Working knowledge of federal bankruptcy laws as well as state and federal lending regulations
    Personal Computer experience to include Microsoft® Office products

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
    May require Notary Public certificate to execute documents on behalf of members and the credit union.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Supervises the employees in the Collections team. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to; recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, seeking Management’s assistance when necessary; attending Supervisory meetings as well as any ongoing training sessions and communicate new information to the staff.

    Provides direction to effectively coach and motivate employees.  Provide direction and coordination of communication and teamwork with branches and departments to support the credit union’s goals.
