OSITION TITLE: Director of District Facilities
CONTRACT PERIOD: July 1 – June 30 (start date to be determined)
REPORTS TO: Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for all duties related to the operations and maintenance of District Facilities. Assists District Administrators in managing school activities; supervising of classified support personnel; coordinating operations such as transportation, building maintenance and special events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for and provides leadership, direction, guidance, coordination, supervision for district operations including
Safety and security of all district facilities
Maintenance of all district facilities
Community use of all district facilities
District athletic facilities operations
Materials procurement and equipment inventory
Distribution and management of instructional materials
Environmental health and safety compliance
Directs operations in all district facilities; the maintenance of services and the implementation of new programs and/or processes (e.g. major renovations; site repairs/construction, maintenance, acquisition of new land for construction, and purchasing, etc.) for the purpose of providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.
Responsible for, participates in, coordinates and provides leadership to the development of the district’s long range operations planning and utilization for facilities.
Monitors budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed.
Organizes meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of fulfilling compliance and mandated safety training requirements.
Plans for and inspects new construction, repair work and related projects for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently; specifications are within regulatory requirements; and approving inspection reports and payment requests.
Presents information in oral and written form (e.g. facility records, correspondence, email, reports, procedures, budget, etc.) to the Board of Education and Administrative staff when requested.
Evaluates, recommends and ensures appropriate staffing of maintenance and custodial staff in all district facilities. Provides timely and accurate feedback of staff performance in accordance with District guidelines.
Researches new products, laws, regulations, etc. for the purpose of recommending purchases, contracts and maintaining district wide services. Supervises and communicate effectively with office staff and other district employees
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires knowledge of managing operations, services and activities of a Unit District School.
The position requires computer literacy and working knowledge of software systems such as Google Apps, Microsoft Office, electronic work order management software and office software for finance and purchasing (Skyward).
Experience with management and administration experience in operations management, preferably with an education institution.
