    Job Summary:  How would you like to work for a company that has been in business for over 40 years and is a leader in their industry?  Our client in Madison County is looking for a Project Accountant to join their team.  The Project Accountant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide accurate and timely support to project managers
    • Set up and maintain multiple projects in accounting software
    • Maintain accurate and auditable files in a paperless system
    • Work with Project Managers to meet monthly billing deadlines:
      -Create timely and accurate client invoices
      -Ensure invoices comply with contract terms and client specific requests
      -Assist PMs with project forecasts by reviewing project work plans and cost estimates
    • Review equipment reports for proper coding of equipment utilized on projects on a weekly basis
    • Initiate/track subcontract payment releases according to contract terms/deadlines/PM requests
    • Prepare and submit lien waivers on projects
    • Review A/R reports for past due amounts and assist in collection efforts
    • Review project financial reports for cost accuracy and reasonableness
    • Conduct weekly review and monitoring of cash receipt postings
    • Perform direct project related labor and cost transfers within the accounting system
    • Review projects monthly with PMs to determine percentage of completion and expected profit margins; update WIP schedules accordingly
    • Maintain high standards of confidentiality

    Location: Madison County, IL
    Position type: Full Time, Eval/Direct Hire
    Pay: Up to $65,000/yr, BOE

    • Bachelors’ degree and 5+ years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience must include:
      • 5+ years’ Construction accounting experience
      • At least 2 years working with WIP schedules
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and knowledge of Vista by Viewpoint
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Work and interact with departments throughout the organization
    • Reasoning and problem-solving ability
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
    • Managing project financial data for multiple projects
