100 DRUMMERS TO PERFORM AT TRI-TOWNSHIP PARK

Over 100 drummers will converge on Troy, Illinois on Sunday, August 8th for a motivational public performance. The drummers are members of Sheltered Reality, a non-profit national organization who use the power of music and high-energy choreography to engage and motivate audiences to realize that any person, at any age in life, can dream and succeed. The concert will begin at 2:00 pm at Tri-Township Park (409 Collinsville Rd). Preceding the concert, area churches will hold a community worship service at 10:30 am in the park. Lunch will be available for a small fee, and admission to the concert will be a non-perishable food item or personal care item to be donated to local relief agencies. Anyone who enjoys seeing and hearing young people who are living positively while changing the world is encouraged to attend.

The group will be in the St Louis area for three days not only to perform, but also to effect positive change through a series of mission projects that will bring much needed help to area non-profit organizations. "Watching our members doing sequenced percussion routines set to music is awe-inspiring; and knowing they are using their talents for good in this world makes it all that much better, “ said Steven Schlosser, Executive Director of Sheltered Reality. Schlosser founded the organization 14 years ago to teach young people not only musical skills but also life skills in terms of being pro-active citizens and connecting with others in the world. He is bringing the drummers together from across the Midwest to focus on a way to celebrate young people doing good in the world and has dubbed the event "Sizzlin’ Summer Drummer Bash.”
