GREAT WORKERS' COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Go to this website: http://www.state.il.us/agency/iic/settlement.htm

Our chamber members who have paid for worker's compensation insurance may be entitled to a refund on their worker's comp policy due to a recent settlement of a lawsuit that challenged the surcharge as unconstitutional.

They only have until June 1st to file for the refund (nothing like giving business owners lots of notice).

I thought you could spread the word to a whole bunch of people with your email list.

SUMMER CAN BE FUN AND EDUCATIONAL

Children’s Museum Camps Offer Wide Array of Choices

Children can have their summer fun and get a dose of education at the same time. The Children’s Museum in Edwardsville this year has a wide array of camp choices for children ages 18 months to 12.

"One of the best ways for children to learn is while they are at play. We have this summer a variety of fun and educational camps that cater to many different interests," says Lisa Leehy, executive director of the Museum. “Most of the camps run three to four days and are offered throughout the summer."

Science wizards can check out the magic of science. Children are invited to explore science through fun demonstrations and experiments. Or, if your child likes to build, "Camp Build It" provides opportunities to explore different materials and building projects and create something to take home.

"For budding artists this summer, we have 'Artists Go Green,' where children can discover the world of recycling in a whole new way," says Leehy. "Participants can get their hands dirty while painting the town 'green.'"

If outdoors is where your child wants to me, "Outdoors, Dig, Plant, Explore & Grow" is a camp to explore plants and nature with fun activities and crafts. "Homes & Habitats" allows children to explore a real teepee, build an igloo and discover dwellings and habitats for people and animals around the world. "Backyard Safari" will give children the chance to explore the animal world in the Museum's backyard.

Other camp descriptions, age requirements and fees can be found online. Registration is underway, and parents are encouraged to act soon to secure a spot. Visit www.childrens-museum.net, or call 618-692-2094 with your credit card information. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
