The Nine Network has partnered with Kodner Gallery in Clayton to present Trash or Treasure, a local Antiques Roadshow-styled event featuring appraisers in more than 20 categories. The annual event attracts a large number of people throughout the St. Louis region who want to learn more about the value and history of items in their possession.

Friedens United Church of Christ is hosting a sausage dinner on Sunday, October, 9 from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. The menu includes grilled pork sausage, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, sauerkraut, slaw and applesauce, and to drink coffee, tea and dessert. Bluegrass and A Fiddler's Frolic at Maryville's Concert in the Park Maryville's final Concert in the Park will host George Portz and The Friends of Bluegrass on Sunday, October 9 in Firemen's Park from 3:00-5:00 in the large pavilion located on Rt. 159. A number of local fiddlers including awarding winning Olivia Webb of Columbia, Trish Pisetta, Cliff Boles, and Mike Boles all of Collinsville will start off the concert with a Fiddler's Frolic with George. The Friends of Bluegrass will get into full swing around 3:30. Parking is available around the park and at Mother of Perpetual Help Church parking lot just one block east of the park. Bring your lawn chairs or sit at the picnic tables. Washington Kettle Corn and soft drinks will be available during the concert.

Hospice of Southern Illinois is excited to announce its First Annual Soiree featuring a Cirque De La Vie theme. Guests can expect to be wowed by specialty acts throughout the evening including a hooper, stilt walker, and caricturist with the main attraction being Brian Madrid, a professional hypnotist. If you've always wanted to be part of a show like this, Brian will give you an opportunity that night to volunteer or let us know ahead of time if you'd prefer! Funds raised through this fun evening will support Hospice of Southern Illinois in continuing to provide excellent end-of-life care. St. Jacob is sponsoring a free health fair for residents of the village of St. Jacob. The health fair is being held on October 27 at the United Church of Christ Heritage Hall. The fair will run from 3pm to 6pm. Free flu shots will be given to persons 18 years or older. Join Partners for Pets at the Edwardsville Moose Lodge on Saturday October 29 for an adoption event! Partners for Pets will have adoptable cats and dogs on site from 10AM until 3PM. Edison's will host a Halloween party for kids 12 and under on Saturday, October 29. The main attractions will be the pumpkin decorating and costume contests. There will also be a free balloon artist on-hand from 10am-12pm. The entry fee of $16 per child includes a costume contest entry, a pumpkin to decorate, a gift bag of candy, a coupon for a free game of bowling, and unlimited bowling, laser tag, and arcade play from 10am-2pm. Contestants are asked to arrive by 11:30ap. Judging will start 12pm. Contestants of the pumpkin decorating and costume contests will be placed into one of two age groups, and the winner of each group will receive a $50 gift certificate toward a party at Edison's. Additional prizes will also be awarded to the second and third place winners. This event is presented by Edison's Lil' Inventors Club and is sponsored by TheBANK of Edwardsville.
